Welcome to the walking programme of the Leeds Group of "The Ramblers"
your local branch of what used to be known as The Ramblers Association.
Our aim is to promote walking in the countryside by encouraging use of our
footpath network - paths that continue to exist to a large extent due to campaigning by "The Ramblers"

The walks are suitable for most reasonably fit competent adults. You are welcome to join us on our walks. Simply turn up at the time and place and you will be most welcome. We hope you will enjoy the experience enough to regularly walk with us and become a fully paid up member of "The Ramblers".
If you would like more details about any of the walks simply phone the walk leader or walks co-ordinator.
Most of our walks are on a Saturday afternoon and there is usually a refreshment stop halfway round, so bring a flask and sandwiches if you wish. They often finish with a little socialising in the nearest pub.

Please note carefully

All walks are at your own risk.   The walk has a leader but you are still responsible
for your own safety. Please take note of any instructions given to you by the leader.

Let the leader lead you. Do not walk on ahead of the leader unless asked to do so.
Wear suitable footwear and clothing. If in doubt consult the walk leader beforehand.

Good strong boots and a warm waterproof jacket are usually essential. Carry extra clothing in your rucksack. Better to prepare for the worst weather but hope for the best!

The leader has the absolute right to refuse to take anyone on the walk who they feel are
unfit for the walk or have inadequate equipment.

Dogs can be brought if prior permission of the leader is obtained but must be kept
under control on a short lead.

Some walks may be suitable for older children.
We expect under 18s to be accompanied by an adult.
Please consult the walk leader before bringing children on a walk.

Please check public transport times, as walks are prepared many months in advance.

Walks usually go ahead whatever the weather, but, if in any doubt phone the
walk leader before turning out. Cancellations or amendments are listed on our web

site - www.leedsramblers.co.uk

Walks are usually circular, if they are linear this will be clearly stated in the description.

Walks are graded (L) Leisurely (M) Moderate (S) Strenuous
